Is Friday 13th a bad day to try a new pair of shoes?

It’s Friday the 13th today. So what? No different from any other day surely. So, why is it that people get all spooked when the 13th day of the month falls on a Friday? I think I may have the answer. There is hard, scientific fact that supports the theory that the numer 13 and the last day of the working week cause a blip in the calm continuum of life. Read the item below if you don’t believe me. PENCIL – Celebrating 45 Years of the D&AD

Last Thursday 18th September, I had the great pleasure of attending Pencil, a showcase of the very best design and art direction from the past 45 years of the D&AD.
Rubbing shoulders with the great and the mighty of the design and communications industry at the Royal College of Art, including a good spattering of ex-D&AD Presidents, I marveled at the pure talent that surrounded me at every turn.

For the first time all 45 D&AD Annuals were displayed with a short biog and commentary from each President who selected a favourite piece from ‘their year’ and explained why it stands the test of time. I must say, as I slowly moved through… more...
